TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
I believe that all students are entitled to an education which will prepare them for whatever they wish to do upon graduation from high school. It is my philosophy that all students can achieve and meet the standards set forth by the curriculum when provided with the proper materials and environment for learning to occur. I will provide instruction based on the standards for the subjects I teach. I will provide practice (homework and classwork) to help the students meet their needs. It is the student's responsibility to take advantage of these experiences both in class and at home in order to achieve these goals.
ABOUT MR. SALTER
Although this is only my third year at this school, I am not new to teaching. I have taught Biology 1, Biology 2, Advanced Placement Biology and International Baccalaureate Biology for the past 38 years. So, this is the beginning of my 39th year in the classroom.
I was graduated from Leavelle McCampbell High School in 1968 and then continuted my education at The University of South Carolina at Aiken and was graduated with a B.S. degree in Biology Education from The University of South Carolina in Columbia. I then completed a Master of Education degree in Secondary Science Education at The University of South Carolina in Columbia. I presently hold a Master's + 30 hours certificate with endorsement in AP Biology. I have done additional graduate work at both USC and Clemson.
I am married and have one child who is a student at The University of Georgia Veterinary School. She is a fourth year vet student working toward DVM in veterinary medicine. I am a church organist and have played the organ at the same church for the past 48 years.
I am very happy to be at Williston-Elko High School and I have been warmly welcomed by the Administration, Faculty, and Students. I look forward to serving the students of Williston-Elko in the days ahead.
If you need to get in touch with me, please call the school office at the number listed in the contact information above or you may email me at [email protected]
